If you have not been by the shelter lately, please make it a point to stop in... the new dog kennels are really taking shape. Eddie Vela and crew courtesy of Robert and Sandra Smith are doing a beautiful job. The new kennel system will have a roof with lighting and fans and will have 32 kennels. The crew is also building an additional area for dog "playpens" so that the dogs can run without being on the grass (health code). A parking slab for the Van (donated by Betta Thomas) is also planned. Plans are also in the works to brick the front office area, Troy Giles is donating the pavers to start that project.

We still have a "need list" to complete the kennels as well as a few other small projects. So... if you know of anyone who can donate or supply any of the items on the list please have them contact Charlotte Romay or Rory Johnson 956-943-3888.

NEED LIST

1. Additional fencing... (Troy has donated 300 ft of kennel fencing), we will need more since we are now building 32 runs - instead of 24,

2. 34 kennel gates... these can be sponsored one at a time - a tile will be placed on the gate with the name of the sponsor,

3. Electrician to oversee the lighting and fan installation,

4. Kennel dishes,

5. Pavers... Troy is donating several hundred brick size pavers to start the project,

6. 6- 6x6 wooden fencing panels... three to hide the garbage dumpster and three to put up alongside the building.
